Winterwatch 2025 - Ducks of Walthamstow Wetlands with Lira Valencia

Walthamstow Wetlands is Europe's largest urban wetland area, and it is, surprisingly, located in London. It's an internationally important place, attracting huge amounts of avifauna in the winter period. In this segment, we will take a walk through Walthamstow Wetlands with Lira Valencia (@outsidewithlira on Instagram), who has previously appeared in Episode 5 of Springwatch 2024. She will show us perhaps the most overlooked birds that nonetheless live in the reserve in significant numbers - ducks (Anatidae). We'll see diving ducks, pochards, shovelers, gadwalls and wigeons!
