Tips for Tuning Your Instrument - Violin, Viola & Cello - Classic Violins

A tutorial video demonstrating how to properly tune your Violin, Viola, and/or Cello. We recorded this video in March of 2020 as the COVID-19 quarantine measures meant that many young musicians and their families were now struggling to tune their instruments by themselves for the first time. Spencer goes through some of the basics of tuning, and demonstrates a method for success. This is just one way to tune an instrument, and there are indeed many methods out there, but the instructions here are directed toward a younger student (or their parents) who may have never tried to tune their instrument before, and aren't sure where to begin or how to do it. The tips given here will hopefully help to shed some light on the tuning process, and reduce the likelihood of tears or broken strings!
