Smiley Culture 'Cockney Translation' Complete Original Version

Smiley's first single, but second video. This was re-released after the success of 'Police Officer'. Directed by Giblets who were: Rob MacGillivray, Mike Sumpter, Carol MacGillivray and Michael Olley. Like Police Officer, this was made while we were still at Saint Martins School of Art. Not sure the 'batty man' reference was ever picked up by TV stations at the time, you wouldn't get away with it now. We tried to make it as subtle as we could in the animation. Smiley was a talented and charming man. Sadly missed.
