It's been over three weeks since I uploaded our latest video. Usually, I upload a video every two or three days. I've contracted COVID-19 and am currently self-isolating and recovering. Please pray for me, subscribers, so I can recover and hopefully, the pandemic will soon pass... Amen. 💪🤷 Koeswoyo is the father of the Koes brothers, whose children and grandchildren have played a role in the Indonesian pop music revolution. The 1960s, and especially the 1970s, were the golden age of the "Koeswoyo dynasty." At that time, almost no one was unfamiliar with the Koeswoyo family. The music scene at that time was filled with the Koeswoyo family's achievements. In the 1960s, the Koes brothers reigned supreme in the Indonesian music empire, and in the 1970s, they became even more popular, with their new name, Koes Plus, dominating the music scene. Children, teenagers, adults, men, and women, almost everyone knew Koes Plus. Their songs are so famous, easy to play and easy to sing is the advantage of their songs. Because of their popularity, music observers called them fried peanut songs. Tonny indeed knew that people at that time tended to prefer songs that were not complicated and did not like songs with complicated chords. Because it is said that Tonny, before recording his songs, first played them to the local residents. If the residents liked them, then they were chosen to be recorded. Because finally Tonny Koeswoyo found the formula that songs that were not complicated would be liked by the public. In fact, for songs that were a little complicated and complicated, more or less had been made on the Koes Saudara album and the early Koes Plus album. The "3 jurus" formula only started in volume 8 after moving to the Remaco company. In fact, easy chords were actually already trending in the 1970s. Like songs by Panbers, the Mercy's, d'loyd, Bimbo, favorite group, Tetty Kadi, Erny Johan, almost all of them used "3 jurus chords" and "3 jurus more chords". The intricate chord progression began in the early 1980s, pioneered by the Pegangsaan gang, Chrisye, Fariz Rm, and others. The Koeswoyo family's success, after the success of their children, was followed by their grandchildren. The mastermind behind the Koes brothers' children's music careers was Nomo Koeswoyo. He was the first to launch his own children, Chicha Koeswoyo, Helen Koeswoyo, and Reza Koeswoyo. Chicha Koeswoyo was a phenomenal child singer at the time, with her self-composed song "Helly," which became a hit. Many young artists, including her own siblings, Helen Koeswoyo and Reza Koeswoyo, aspired to follow in Chicha Koeswoyo's footsteps. Nomo also launched his own nephews, Sari Koeswoyo and Angga Koeswoyo, the children of Yok Koeswoyo. This step gave rise to other child singers outside the Koeswoyo family such as Adi Bing Slamet, Diana Papilaya, Yoan Tanamal, etc. This musical path was also followed by Tonny Koeswoyo's son, Damon Koeswoyo, who was once a guitarist in the band "Kidnap" with vocalist Anang Hermansyah. Yon Koeswoyo's son, David Koeswoyo, also continued his career in the group "Yunior" with Rico Valentino, son of Murry Koes Plus. Raden Koeswoyo married Rr. Atmini, a niece of the then Regent of Tuban. They were blessed with nine children: 1. Tituk 2. Koesdjono (John Koeswoyo) 3. Koesdini 4. Koestono (Tonny Koeswoyo) 5. Koesnomo (Nomo Koeswoyo) 6. Koesyono (Yon Koeswoyo) 7. Koesroyo (Yok Koeswoyo) 8. Koestami 9. Koesmiani These are the children of Raden Koeswoyo and Rr. Atmini To learn more about Koeswoyo, watch until the end.
