This Tourist Town near Kruger Park IS WORTH EXPERIENCING!

Hoedspruit got its name from: Dawid Johannes Joubert. He was the first official owner of the farm known as Hoedspruit, which means "hat creek". The farm was registered on the 5th of May 1848 and was so-called because of an incident following a heavy storm when the young farmer lost his hat in the flooded Zandspruit River. Controversially the Hoedspruit Station is actually not situated on the remaining official farm of Hoedspruit and is in fact falls on the farm Berlin. This is a result of an unintentional error. The train driver, coming from Lourenco Marques (Maputo) side, had been given the instructions to stop after "the third bend by the large Knobthorn tree"(or something along those lines) to offload the steel and material to build the original station, and he made a mistake and selected the wrong tree to drop the materials off. This has become one of the biggest and best destinations to visit for its own appeal, Blyde Canyon, Waterfalls, Rehabilitation centers, traditional food, wildlife estates, and many more. The town is only 50 minutes from the Kruger National Park and all supplies can be bought here.
