The E360 can capture vehicles directly to the side of intersections and objects hidden deep in the road. A rival Chinese high-end 360-degree dashcam is the single-camera 70mai 4K Omni, which uses the Starvis2's top-of-the-line IMX678 image sensor. However, since the 4K-resolution camera with motorized panning (rotating left and right) tracks the subject, it does not record in all directions at all times. Meanwhile, Japanese rivals include the Comtec ZDR-850R and ZDR037, which have a resolution of 2880 x 2880 pixels and no Starvis branding. The E360, by contrast, has a resolution of 5184 x 1944 pixels and uses Starvis2 IMX675, providing the highest image quality and resolution among panoramic dashcams. The E360's narrow vertical resolution of 1944px means it doesn't capture the interior ceiling or the area directly below the unit, but I don't particularly care about a wide vertical field of view. While the wide field of view is an important indicator of dashcam video quality, there are also physical trade-offs. For example, a fisheye lens records a very wide area, offering the advantage of capturing a wide range of traffic, not just from the front but also from the side, such as tailgating. However, with the same number of pixels, the wider the field of view, the lower the pixel density of the image, making it difficult to identify distant details, especially license plates.
