Mercedes Self-adjusting Brakes Tech Tip

Hey Paul, I hope this rough Cinéma vérité video on brakes. The fronts are basically the same. I forgot to mention the friction discs are VERY brittle and will snap in half easily. The are designed for compression. The discs I have rec'd from Mercedes were garbage. They tore easily once installed. The friction discs are grabbing onto the shoes. So make sure there is no issue with the surface of the shoe where the disc rides. If your discs have an indentation on them from sitting on the oval in the shoe, flip the disc over and you will have a fresh surface against the shoe. When removing good discs on rusted holders sand the holder smooth so the disc will slide off. Otherwise, if you try to force the disc over the rusted holder the disc will usually break.
