L'archiluth, comment ça marche ? Par Thomas Dunford - Culture Prime

The lute is a European instrument derived from its Arabic ancestor, the oud. It is the true king of Renaissance music. Over 40,000 pieces written for the lute have been discovered. 🎼 The archlute, on the other hand, is a tenor lute with a longer neck and more strings than the Renaissance lute. As lutenist Thomas Dunford explains: "People who don't know the lute say it's a minstrel's instrument!" But the archlute is capable of producing deep bass notes and can adapt to a wide variety of musical genres. A detailed explanation to understand how this imposing instrument works. #ThomasDunford #cultureprime #archlute #baroquemusic ___________________________________________________________________________ 🔔 Remember to subscribe to discover more France Musique videos! @francemusique Credits: Video: Victor Pascal Filmed by: Pierre-Yves Georges Head of Video Department: Lucie Bombled Sound Recording: Robin Mélin Voice-over: Alexandra James Le Liepvre Additional Images: Getty, Wikimedia Concert: DPAV Radio France Discover all of France Musique: ► Website - https://www.radiofrance.fr/francemusique ► Concerts - https://www.radiofrance.fr/concerts ► Newsletters - https://www.radiofrance.fr/francemusi...
