Ufudu Flyfishing Experience Maldives

During the past several months I (Ben Pretorius) have had the pleasure of hosting guests on fly fishing trips to the Orange river and to the northern atolls of the Maldives. Five recent trips to several islands of the northern atolls of the Maldives uncovered some of the most exciting GT fishing imaginable. Sight casting to fish in excess of 1 ½ m in the surf zone is an adrenalin rush on steroids. Hooking and landing one of them is of course the bigger challenge but this is what dreams are made of. We have also discovered islands that have kilometres of snow white flats, providing excellent trigger, bluefin and GT sight fishing. Words alone cannot do justice to what we saw and experienced on these trips and using a Go Pro camera, I captured a substantial amount of footage, including the breath-taking scenery and the fly fishing action.
