This was WAY HARDER than expected! The Lap, Windermere (Part 1) - Al Pepper Runs

They call this the beautiful ultra. For me, it was the 'much harder than expected ultra'. A 75km anticlockwise loop around Windermere rising from the shoreline of the lake up to the highest point at Wansfell Pike. A rather wet summer had left the ground in tatters with most of the terrain being ankle deep mud. This was then added to by constant rain for most of the event! Part 1 sees Ultra Smid and I journey from the start through to checkpoint 3. There are highs, there are lows, there are falls and there is a bit of a cliffhanger ending ahead of part 2... ENJOY!
