Holocaust survivor Helen Aronson tells her story to her grandson Daniel

This video is one of five produced by The Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR) in 2016. 'Generation2Generation' was an AJR initiative which produced films of grandchildren interviewing their grandparent about the experience of being a refugee or survivor of the Holocaust. It provided unique, first-hand video testimony of family interviews never previously recorded. Helen Aronson was only 12 years old when the German army arrived at her home. She was one of around only 750 people to be liberated from the Łódź Ghetto, out of 250,000 people sent there. Her mother and brother survived with her, but her father was murdered at Chełmno.
