By sovereign grace, God shows mercy and faithfully provides salvation for His chosen people. This is the truth we see so clearly in the Book of Genesis, and indeed in the entire Bible. In Genesis 44-45 we see a climactic peak in the life of Israel and Joseph. God, in His sovereignty, has sent Joseph ahead of his family in order to save them from death and to be their provider in life. In these chapters, we see Joseph finally reveal himself to his brothers and declare his faith in God, who, by His sovereign will, had sent him through suffering and into Egypt in order to save God’s chosen people, the Children of Israel.
