King Harald and the royal family greet the children's parade on 17. May 2023
The 17. of May is our national day, the constitution day of Norway. The day is usually celebrated locally, people will gather at their local school, someone might hold a short speach and the children (and sometimes their parents too) will walk in a small parade and wave with flags. In Oslo however, all the schools merge together and holds one huge parade down the main street and across the Palace Square. And every year the royal family come out on the balcony to watch the whole parade. King Harald is 86 years old, he has been sick for a couple of weeks, he came out of the hospital two days ago, and today he stood on the balcony for 3 hours, greeting the people.
