Wehrmacht campaign in France | Rare archive material in perfect quality (May, 1940)
This video presents a 30-minute compilation of original wartime footage showing German military units during the early phases of World War II. The material is sourced from a historical propaganda film produced by the National Socialist regime and therefore reflects the perspective and visual staging typical of propaganda cinema of that time. The sequence focuses exclusively on the raw battlefield imagery: advancing troops, armored vehicles, artillery units, military columns on the move, and soldiers operating in the field. Maps, narration, and appearances by military leaders present in the original film have been removed in order to isolate the visual record of the soldiers and equipment. The original film can be watched here: • "Panzer greifen an!" - NS-Propagandafilm z... The footage shows various aspects of military logistics and frontline activity, including marching formations, vehicle convoys, armored operations, and soldiers preparing or moving through terrain. While originally filmed to serve propagandistic purposes, the images also provide a historical visual record of military uniforms, vehicles, equipment, and field conditions of the period. For this version, the original narration track has been removed and replaced with music, allowing the viewer to focus on the visual material itself. The footage has been preserved and presented in high quality to document the historical imagery as clearly as possible. This video is published for historical documentation and educational purposes. The source film was produced as propaganda by the Nazi regime, and the images should be understood within that historical context.
