In this episode, I race into the Severn Township of Coldwater just ahead of a powerful winter storm warning, determined to capture what small-town Canada looks like when heavy snow, high winds, and freezing temperatures take over. This video is part storm chasing, part van life survival, and part small town exploration. I walk through Coldwater’s charming downtown, visiting the iconic old mill, retro Texaco gas station, Royal Canadian Legion, and local shops, all while the snow starts coming down hard. I also stop at Bosco’s Pizza for a deep-fried panzerotti that absolutely hits the spot before the blizzard intensifies. As the storm ramps up, I park my minivan camper near the mill and ride out gusts up to 70 km/h, plunging wind chills, and near-whiteout conditions. Inside the van, it’s all about heat management, electric blankets, ramen cooking, and survival tactics as the temperature outside drops toward -20°C with wind chill. This is real winter van life, not the glamorous Instagram version. The next morning, I wake up buried in fresh snow and head to Tiffany’s Restaurant for a classic Canadian breakfast with peameal bacon, eggs, toast, and coffee, wrapping up another unforgettable stealth camping night.
