Excel: What "Dynamic" Actually Means in Dynamic Arrays

Dynamic Arrays are one of the biggest changes to Excel in recent years, but what does the word dynamic actually mean in this context? Many users assume it refers to source data that changes, Excel Tables that grow automatically or formulas that update when new records are added. In reality, it means something much simpler.
