For Real

Recorded live from my living room, in a concert co-sponsored by the Susquehanna Folk Music Society and River Spirit Music, on April 10, 2021. I had decided to make this a retrospective concert, sharing songs from my early recordings - songs I still loved, but hadn’t sung in years. It was a huge project, as it involved creating new arrangements for most of these songs on my current instrument of choice, my Pono tenor ukulele. And it was a joy to sing them again, like revisiting old friends. This song written by my friend Bob Franke has long been one of my favorites. I recorded it on my third album, There's a Light, produced by Johnny Cunningham, and released on Green Linnet in 1985.
