Also, when using the EVF, you can also use your right thumb on the screen like a touchpad, so as not to take your eye away from the EVF. Phase Detect AF will also work on the existing XCD lenses, and not just the three new lenses. The new lenses do have upgraded focus motors though, so combined with the X2D and PDAF they will be slightly faster to focus, but only marginally, and the existing XCD lenses will be faster to focus on the X2D due to the PDAF being on the sensor and not lens dependent. If also referring to older lenses such as the H and V lenses, if the H lens supports AF (some do, some don’t), then again they will be faster due to the PDAF being able to detect the focus faster, with the limitation being the slower speed of the focus motor combined with the heavier lenses. If the lens doesn’t support AF, then it will of course not focus at all, regardless of PDAF.Therefore, in summary, if the lens is AF compatible, then the PDAF will still make the focusing faster, but for optimum AF speeds, the new XCD lenses would provide this. Other lenses can be adapted to fit on the X2D by using third-party adapters and the electronic shutter mode. The electronic shutter does present some limitations on use though, but it is technically possible and many X2D owners do use third-party lenses despite the limitations, so it can have its practical benefits. ▵ SUBSCRIBE ▵ / lizziepeirce ▵ GEAR I USE ▵ https://www.lizziepeirce.com/my-gear ▵ SHOP ▵ https://www.lizziepeirce.com/shop ▵ LET'S BE FRIENDS ▵ INSTA ▷ / lizziepeirce TWITTER ▷ / lizziepeirce TIKTOK ▷ / lizziepeirce MY WEBSITE ▷ https://www.lizziepeirce.com BUSINESS ENQUIRIES ▷ [email protected] ▵ PODCAST ▵ (Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcast, Anchor) "COUPLE OF CREATIVES PODCAST" w/ CHRIS HAU ▷ https://open.spotify.com/show/1ygXSgp...
