Halil Karakoç, from Kırkağaç to the southeast, after his father died when he was a child, his mother sold fields and other fields, put the money in her pocket, and went to study. Around the age of 9, he would go to his teacher, who gave him three lines of instruction a day, and say, "Sir, don't delay me, either give me long, page-long lessons, or let me go to someone else." He then studied the sciences one by one, and I personally witnessed his diplomas, which reached the size of an encyclopedia. Then, at 14, he received the prayer of the Ahl al-Bayt, and his heart was opened. One of the prayers offered/gifted to him was this: "My son, Halil, every night when it says 4:00, you will wake up and pray." In his own words, "No matter what time I go to bed, I started/still wake up when it says 4:00." It's been 72 years since he continued his nightly prayers. (He's our relative, and we were together for four years. He doesn't tell us about this, and hardly anyone knows.) When he completed his knowledge and returned to Manisa, he was greatly favored by the people. So much so that after a sermon where he described a sin committed/forced, the people would become enraged, etc. While the public's favor was soaring with the honor of religion and the world (in GD, the sheikhs had him read the Risale-i Nur), when the people he met later said that we needed to collect tithe for education and that there was no way he could de facto engage directly with science right now, he climbed onto his horse-drawn cart and collected tithe from students in villages, drawing the gratitude of the taciturn, taciturn villagers for God's sake. He was a man who didn't own a television or a cell phone, yet had a clock in every room. The prosecutor asked, "Why do they love you so much?" He was a scholar who taught the Risale-i Nur lectures open to the public on Sundays in Manisa for 19 years.
