multipoint locks are now very common and are often fitted to most types of doors including PVC doors, patio doors and even wooden doors. Replacing a multipoint lock can be a difficult job if the door lock fails in the closed position. In this example I was lucky and managed to open the door in order to replace the lock. The cost of a full lock was £50 from my local locksmith who ensured I got the exact right model and also trimmed it to the correct length.
