Detroit & Lima Northern #7 - Ford's Personal Locomotive - Greenfield Village: First Run in 2 Years

I began my weekend trip on Friday, June 10, 2022 by heading North to Dearborn, MI to check out the Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village. I saw several cool locomotives an artifacts in preservation in the museum portion, including C&O 1601, one of the last two surviving Allegheny steam locomotives. But the real attraction for me was the Greenfield Village portion of the day, where I was able to walk around to see lot's of history related to Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and other notable innovators. While there, I undertook a small foot chase of one of the three operational steam locomotives located in the village. The Baldwin number 7 originally served the Detroit & Lima Northern Railway. The number 7 was eventually acquired by Henry Ford and become his personal locomotive, used to pull a private, family car. There are even photos out there with Henry Ford himself standing in number 7's cab. Unknown to me until after I came home, this was also the first time Number 7 has run in over two years, with it being sidelined late 2019 due to mechanical issues, and then the pandemic keeping it sidelined until recently.
