Episode 4 of TRIO TALKS features Carlos Vega who spoke with genuine authenticity about the struggles of a first-generation, low-income student entering college. He described in detail, in this interview, how being a participant in Student Support Services Teach and becoming involved in professional development opportunities and staying engaged helped him to stay on the course to graduate in Fall 2026. Eventually, staying involved and engaged led him to also be in McNair Scholars; he hopes to move onto a master’s degree in sport studies in his near future.
