#AfricanSwineFever #Kinmen #MinistryofAgriculture The Central African Swine Fever Disaster Response Center announced today that the Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine Agency of the Ministry of Agriculture received a report from the Coast Guard Administration on the afternoon of July 14th that a pig carcass was found floating on Xintou Beach in Jinhu Township, Kinmen County. After collecting samples and sending them for testing, the results confirmed that the carcass was positive for African swine fever virus nucleic acid. Further viral gene sequence analysis and comparison are currently underway. To strengthen risk control, the Response Center also announced today an expanded suspension of pork and processed pork products from Kinmen to Taiwan proper and other outlying islands.
