In this episode, I had the opportunity to work with Erikas, a promising 13-year-old who reminds me of Stefanos Tsitsipas when he first came to the Mouratoglou Academy. Erikas has a powerful forehand, but struggles to engage his full body in the motion, relying too heavily on his arm to generate power. Do you find yourself falling into a similar pattern? We also spent some time fine tuning Erikas’ volley. Getting the right angle, with your body weight in the right place, is crucial for striking an excellent volley, which is exactly what we focused on in the second half of this session. After an hour, Erikas had doubled the power in his forehand, and possessed much more accurate volleys!
