day out on merseyrail 28th april 2022

OK Can't believe its well over a year by the time I'm doing the description for this! It's gonna be like doing the memory round on Krypton Factor. Ok here we go, Merseyrail on 28th April 2022 Christopher, is it coming back yet? 0:00:01 - We kick off on 508 131 heading up to Kirkdale for a sojourn there before 114 returns us to Sandhills. 777 013 pops into the centre siding whilst on driver training whilst the 507s and 508s do their thing looking suitably unruffled. 0:17:09 - 777 013 makes its way back into Sandhills to head up to Hillside. We however head the other way into town and onto the Wirral Line 0:22:38 - Well of course we were going to end up at Green Lane! Possibly my favourite station on the network (although a recently discovered contender is Hightown). Some too-ing and fro-ing is witnessed before we head back to Hamilton Square for 507 002 to Moreton (I think this was to visit a shop in the village that still sold Thorntons toffee!) 0:29:59 - Not too sure what happened in the meantime (it may have involved eating toffee) but we're now leaving Hunts X on a Southport train! Jointed track loveliness is still to be found at Brunswick at this point before we see a few arrivals at Liverpool Central 0:36:24 - A 6 car Kirkby train (SIGH, it obviously is over a year ago!) takes us to Sandhills where 507 001 is now in the centre road. Another 6 car set is taken up to Freshfield where we see 777 013 stopping off on its way up to Hillside in the midst of driver familiarisation runs 0:48:19 - We join 508s 136 and 120 southbound for the Formby-Hall Road edition of jointed track loveliness which thankfully remains extant when I'm writing this 0:57:16 units in all directions back at Sandhills. We then join 507 018 (still with "Stand With Ukraine" vinyls at this point, and subsequently a long term resident at Southport sidings awaiting works to be authorised) on the front of a 6 car set to return to Moorfields and see a few more Wirral line departures to close out the day
