Supergrass is an English rock band formed in 1993 in Oxford, initially consisting of Gaz Coombes (lead vocals, guitar), Mick Quinn (bass, backing vocals), and Danny Goffey (drums, backing vocals). Gaz's brother, Rob Coombes (keyboards), joined officially in 2002. Although they began working on a seventh album, "Release the Drones," it was never completed. The band split in 2010 due to musical and creative differences but reunited in 2019 for a series of performances, including a tribute to Foo Fighters' drummer Taylor Hawkins in 2022. Prior to forming Supergrass, Gaz Coombes and Danny Goffey were part of the Jennifers, a band influenced by the Oxford indie scene and shoegaze era. After the Jennifers disbanded in 1992, Coombes and Goffey, along with Mick Quinn, formed Theodore Supergrass, later shortened to Supergrass.
