Is this the most sustainable building in the world?

Skyscrapers may take up relatively little land, but they consume enormous amounts of resources. This is an issue that must be faced, especially in discussions about the shortage of space in cities. But here in Australia, there are two examples showing that it doesn’t have to be this way. For the construction of the Quay Quarter Tower in Sydney, an existing high-rise building was completely refurbished and extended upward. As a result, it is considered to be the largest adaptive reuse project of its kind worldwide, saving around 7,500 tons of CO₂. The 206 m (676 ft) tall tower was even awarded with the International High-Rise Award and named the best skyscraper of 2023. In Melbourne, the world’s first supertall vertical garden is planned: the Southbank by Beulah Tower. More than five and a half kilometers of vertical greenery and sky parks will be created, reaching up to 365 m (1.198 ft) above street level. This will significantly improve the urban climate and help to cool down the citys temperature. #skyscrapers #australia #sustainability 00:00 Australia – Down Under, a relaxed way of life 00:54 What are we doing in Australia? 01:26 Sydney – A brief overview of its architectural history 03:10 The Quay Quarter Tower 04:30 Southbank by Beulah Tower 07:40 Conclusion __________________________ For more insights from DIGITALWERK on the most exciting construction sites, subscribe to the channel now!
