The series "Grand" conquered television screens in 2018 and became a direct sequel to "Hotel Eleon." The "Kitchen" universe has expanded so much that it already has two spin-offs. That's without even taking into account the likes of SenyaFedya and War for the Hotel. The sequel was directed by Dmitry Gribanov, who also worked on Hotel Eleon. The creative team has changed somewhat, but most of them are the same ones who were previously responsible for this franchise. However, the series had one big BUT: it wasn't broadcast on STS, as expected, but on the Super channel, which was fully sponsored by Gazprom. Incidentally, this channel has now been shut down due to low ratings. And if you dot the i's and cross the t's, this product was an unofficial continuation of Kitchen, because STS only gave the creators the right to use the old characters, while STS still held the rights to the Kitchen franchise itself. And if you start digging deeper, there were a ton of squabbles between Super, Yellow Black & White, and STS over franchise rights, and so on and so forth. That's why Grand is now being shown quietly on both STS and the separate online cinema Start. In short, it's a complete mess, with all this chaos. But we have to give credit to the Super channel and the entire team of creators, for despite the extremely lukewarm reviews from viewers and critics, the first seasons, the seemingly pointless existence of this series, and the constant squabbles with STS producers, they managed to produce not a money-making machine parasitizing on the original, but an extremely successful, funny, and worthy sequel.
