Flug in Gefahr, Die Mutter aller Flugzeugkatastrophenfilme, mit Hanns Lothar, kompletter Film

High tension reigns on a night flight from Winnipeg to Vancouver. Forty-eight passengers and three crew members are aboard a four-engine DC-4. Several passengers suddenly fall seriously ill. The only doctor who happens to be on board is unable to help. He can only determine that everyone has eaten a fish meal served on board and has suffered food poisoning. The captain and co-pilot also succumb to illness. Now, passenger George Spencer, who trained with the Air Force many years ago and flew only single-engine fighter planes in World War II, is everyone's hope. Following instructions given to him over the radio by an experienced DC-4 airline pilot, he miraculously manages to land the aircraft without anyone being harmed. Flight into Danger, a 1964 German film adaptation and the "mother of all airplane disaster films," is based on Arthur Hailey's novel of the same name, which in turn was based on the 1956 Canadian television film of the same name, for which he wrote the screenplay. In 1957, the American remake "Zero Hour (714 Doesn't Answer)" followed, also with Hailey as screenwriter. Another remake, "Panic in the Clouds," was released in 1971. Then, in 1980, the parody "Airplane!" was released, although this version parodies "Zero Hour."
