An Old World Star Fort Sea Wall Nobody Gets to See
Low tide at Castle Island is a game-changer. I hiked the sea wall surrounding the Star Fort and realized the wall is even more of a beast than the fort itself! The walk is a chaotic mix of massive engineering and crumbling ruins. If those shattered stones could talk, they’d have some wild stories about the South Boston coast. Across the USA, numerous cities and towns showcase remarkable feats of advanced construction, accomplished long before modern technologies and capabilities. Intrigued, I ponder the stories of the founders and builders who overcame such architectural triumphs using only primitive tools and manual labor. Exploring these historic sites in New England, I discover that past cataclysms have destroyed this once-advanced civilization, leaving behind ruins that many choose to ignore. I take pleasure in provoking thoughtful reactions to these overlooked ruins. [email protected]
