How to Configure Pedal Assist (PAS) and Throttle Settings on Your #ebike (S866 Display Tutorial)

Welcome to the Engthink channel! In this video, we dive into the relationship between PAS (Pedal Assist Sensors) and throttle sensors on e-bikes. We'll explain how PAS sensors typically consist of a sensor and a magnetic disc attached to the crank arm, which detects pedal movement to activate motor assistance. We cover different PAS configurations, including separate sensor and magnet units, as well as integrated designs. We'll also walk you through how to configure your e-bike's drive mode using the popular S866 display. Learn how to access the menu, adjust assistance levels, and set whether your e-bike uses both sensors together or just the throttle or pedal assist alone. Specifically, we show how to change the P10 parameter to choose between: 0: Pedal Assist only (motor responds only when you pedal). 1: Throttle-only mode (motor responds only when you twist the throttle). 2: Both PAS and throttle work together for a seamless experience. Understanding these settings helps you customize your riding experience, troubleshoot, and get the most out of your e-bike.
