Nationaal Leger 16 nieuwe sergeant-majoors rijker

The Institute for Defence Training (IDO) has produced sixteen new sergeant majors. They received their certificates last Tuesday, after which they were immediately promoted. According to Captain Dyoma Blokland, Commander of the Military School (MS), this training commenced on October 21, 2025, and lasted five months. During the training, the participants were taught various theoretical and practical subjects, including effective communication, strategic thinking, tactics, management, and leadership. A sergeant major is an experienced non-commissioned officer who possesses strong leadership qualities, technical expertise, and management skills. This non-commissioned officer also co-leads military units, possesses in-depth knowledge of weapon systems and operational processes, and is jointly responsible for administration and logistics within the organization. In addition, the sergeant major acts as a coach or mentor for other military personnel and exudes professionalism and integrity.
