Park Chats: Laboring in a Land of Leisure
Why would you work in a bathhouse? It’s hot. It’s humid. It’s really hard work! But for African Americans in Hot Springs, the bathhouses opened doors for themselves and their community. Their accomplishments changed Hot Springs National Park, the region, and the nation. You are invited to learn about some of these amazing and interconnected stories on the eve of America’s 250th birthday! This program is part of the collaborative series between Garland County Library and Hot Springs National Park and can be attended in person or watched via livestream on the Library’s YouTube channel at / garlandcolibrary or on the Garland County Library Facebook page.
