Breza is a populated place and the center of the municipality of the same name, which covers an area of 72.9 km2. It is part of the Zenica-Doboj canton and borders three municipalities: Ilijaš, Vareš and Visoko. The geographical position, configuration and quality of the soil, climate, water-rich area, historical heritage, and existing catering and sports-recreational facilities represent a valuable perspective for the development of tourism. There are coal deposits in Breza. The municipality of Breza consists of the following settlements: Banjevac, Breza, Bukovik, Bulbušići, Gornja Breza, Izbod, Kamenice, Koritnik, Mahala, Mahmutovića Rijeka, Nasići, Očevlje, Orahovo, Podgora, Potkraj, Prhinje, Seoce, Slivno, Smailbegovići, Smrekovica, Sutješćica. , Trtorići, Vardište, Vijesolići, Vlahinje, Vrbovik, Zalozje and Župča. In Breza we find many monuments of different values. First of all, we should mention the Basilica from the time of the Decitiates, who inhabited these windows during the time of the Illyrians. Apart from the Basilica, the remains of which are still preserved today, there are many stećaks, with the most famous location in Hrasno. A few years ago, the Clock Tower was built in Breza, which adorns the city center. One of the most important mosques in Breza is the so-called Old Mosque, which was restored two years ago. There is also one of the oldest mosques in Bosnia and Herzegovina - dzažmija in Podgora. In addition to mosques, in Breza we find other sacred buildings, such as the Orthodox and Catholic churches, and they are also located in the very core of the town. There are several archaeological sites in Breza, which are unfortunately insufficiently explored. The archaeological site of Kamenjača is the most famous. As for education, in Breza we find several rural primary schools, which educate children up to 4th or 8th grade of primary school. In addition to village schools, there are also two central schools: Elementary School "Safvet-beg Bašagić" and Elementary School "Enver Čolaković". As for high school education, in Breza there are: "Muhsin Rizvić" Gymnasium, and a mixed school with numerous courses, both three-year and four-year (economic technician, electrical technician, energy technician, mining-geological technician, gas-water installer, hairdresser- wig...)
