FROM Season 4 Episode 7 REACTION | "Best Laid Plans" Syntell and Frank are back in the town for Season 4 Episode 7 — and this one moves. FROM Season 4 Episode 7, "Best Laid Plans," picks up with the aftermath of Jade's mushroom vision and the revelation that she and Tabitha have been here before — all the way back to the beginning, as Miranda, as Victor's mother — and that the man in yellow being back could mean the whole cycle is starting again. Victor pulls Ethan aside. Miranda came with a boy and a girl. Tabitha came with a boy and a girl. The man in yellow is back. The last time, only the boy survived — and he's been trapped here for forty years. Boyd's plan to test the totems on a creature before anyone goes into the tunnels seems like the play. Kenny volunteers. The man in yellow, meanwhile, has been three steps ahead the entire time: Sophia dosed someone's drink, the creatures are told to block every exit, and Henry — deep in a blood-fueled vision — is being shown a happy, impossible version of Victor that only exists to make him doubt everything. Nobody gets near those tunnels. The episode ends with the man in yellow standing in the bus doorway. Well played, you bastard. The post-reaction is one of the best conversations Syntell and Frank have had on this show: whether the loop can actually be broken or if the town is sealed and destiny wins, why the snitch theory points toward Sophia, what the teeth in the man in yellow's bag might actually mean (trophy, soul trap, fairy lore — all on the table), Frank's theory that Jade's quantum algorithm software company might be the architecture of this entire place, the New York viewfinder appearing twice with and without the Twin Towers, the Egypt language connection, and the golem — still just sitting there.
