TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan a suspect in the alleged corruption case involving the Free Nutritional Meals (MBG) program at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). Brigadier General Lalu Muhammad Iwan served as Secretary to the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). "We have named another suspect, LMI, who served as Head of the Legal and Public Relations Bureau of the BGN until March 2025 and currently serves as Secretary to the Deputy for Promotion and Cooperation at the BGN," said Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, Director of Investigation at the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), at the AGO Round Building, Jakarta, Thursday (July 2, 2026). Syarief stated that Lalu allegedly asked two witnesses, identified as YCS and RD, to establish a company to sell food trays, or ompreng, to potential partners of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG). Lalu also played a role in determining the price of the ompreng. "His role was that in 2025, Mr. LMI asked witnesses YCS and RD to establish a company to sell food trays to potential partners of the SPPG at a price determined by the suspect, LMI," Syarief said. The price set by Lalu for the ompreng included a fee that Lalu would receive for granting approval to supply ompreng to the SPPG points. "The price also included a fee for Mr. LMI to ensure the point's approval," Syarief said. Investigators have detained Lalu at the Salemba Detention Center, South Jakarta District Attorney's Office, for the first 20 days for investigation purposes. For his actions, Lalu is suspected of violating Article 12 letters a, b, and e of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with the Criminal Code.
