Spermatogenesis | How sperm cells are produced|
Spermatogenesis is the process of production or development of spermatozoa or sperms. The process of spermatogenesis occurs in steps form a primordial germ cells which lie in the wall of seminiferous tubules. These cells are also called stem cells for the sperms. primordial germ cells modified into spermatogonia which further divides by the process of mitosis into type A and Type B spermatogonium. Type A cells go back and get ready for the new division of spermatogenesis on need. Type B cells are those cells which are ready to produce to sperm cells. Type B cells divide into primary spermatocytes by the process of mitosis. Primary spermatocytes then divide by the process of meiosis and hence chromosome numbers become half. After division the new haploid cells are now called secondary spermatocytes. Secondary spermatocytes undergoes meiosis 2 and four haploid cell develop called spermatids. Spermatids are the sperm cells without tail. Spermatids get mature into spermatozoa under the influence of testosterone hormone which is produced by leydic cell. The process of spermatogenesis occurs in seminiferous tubules of testes in males. In seminiferous tubules there are cells called sertoli cells which helps in spermatogenesis by providing nutrients and nourishment to sperm cells. #SpremsFormation
