Praca POLICJI w laboratorium kryminalistycznym. Jak wygląda Polskie CSI? | DO ROBOTY
In this special episode on the Do Roboty! channel, we reach a place where cameras are rarely allowed: the Central Forensic Laboratory of the Police (CFP)! The Director and experts from CFP open their doors to show us how the perpetrator of every crime is identified based on trace evidence. We'll discover the world of forensic experts for whom work is a passion and a constant challenge, and each assignment is unique. You'll see how science meets forensics to provide irrefutable evidence in court proceedings. In this extensive video, you'll learn about the work of 7 key departments at CFP: 💣 Chemical Research Department (Explosives) Łukasz Matasek demonstrates how the construction of explosive devices is reconstructed from fragments (e.g., a suitcase after an F1 grenade explosion). You'll see how they test smokeless powder and other propellants, and why high-end equipment (worth half a million złoty!) is needed to detect substances in millionths of a gram. We participate in a controlled combustion test, which provides a wealth of information about the material's properties! 🔬 Chemical Research Department (Microtraces) Daria explains how they identify vehicles that fled the scene of an accident based on microtraces (fibers, hair, paint particles). You'll learn how microscopes and human capabilities (not artificial intelligence!) are used to make selections and comparisons to solve cases. ✍️ Handwriting and Document Analysis Workshop How experts analyze and compare handwriting and the authenticity of signatures on documents (e.g., passports, interrogation reports). Most importantly: Discover how biometric signatures are tested on tablets! Not only the shape of the line is recorded, but also the time and pressure applied, which allows us to detect whether someone has considered each letter – BE CAREFUL what you're signing! 🤥 Polygraph Testing Laboratory (Lie Detection) You'll see how a polygraph (lie detector) works, recording the body's reactions (breathing, heart rate, skin conductance) to questions. The examiner takes a practice test! See how the graph shows interference with the test (e.g., leg movement). 💻 Computer Science Testing Laboratory You'll learn how IT officers analyze digital media (flash drives, cards, mobile devices) for modified documents, artifacts from visited websites, and files. This job is perfect for people who don't want to do the same thing over and over again – every case is a new challenge! 🔫 Ballistics Laboratory Experts demonstrate the ballistics tank where casings and bullets are collected from weapons, even those that are technically inoperable, for comparative testing. You'll see how the Balskan system (a 3D scanner) for automatic weapon identification works, comparing traces on casings with material recovered up to 5 years ago! 🧬 Genetic Research Department (DNA) Magda demonstrates the step-by-step process of collecting and examining evidence (e.g., stains on pants). We conduct immunochromatographic tests (strips) to determine whether a given stain is human blood. You'll learn that the CLKP is the only police laboratory that identifies bodies based on bones and teeth (the most durable sources of DNA!) You'll learn how the DNA database works and how family trees are created to identify unidentified bodies by comparing them with relatives' DNA. Become a CLKP officer/expert! If you have a master's degree, a passion for challenges, and enjoy combining scientific and investigative knowledge, the Police need you! 👮♂️ If you're interested in forensics, police technology, or a career in the force, this material is for you.
