AUCHINDOUN CASTLE MAY EXPLORATION - A Photo Diary

AUCHINDOUN CASTLE MAY EXPLORATION - A Photo Diary Diary: 21st May 2021 We are off to Auchindoun Castle. Not sure we will get in but we will try. Weather is wet and breezy which might keep the crowds away. I took Lindsay the back way as she does not know where we are going. She guessed about half way there. This is still within Moray even though we can get out and about now. On arrival there is nobody here so we get parked in the corner out of the way. Kettle on and we settle in. Radio and reading before bed. 22nd May 2021 Wet, windy and generally grey describes the weather this morning. There are plenty of birds about and a few castle visitors with interesting parking techniques. I think some of the looks we get are due to them wondering how I got the motorhome in here while they struggle with a small car. The poor weather continued until early afternoon. Lindsay went for a walk and I flew the drone as the car park was empty. Lindsay had walked to the castle and managed to photograph it. Missed the geocache but she did not have GPS with her. Back in the van we had lunched and watched the birds again. The weather stayed OK and at sunset we got out again. I flew the drone and Lindsay went to the castle to take sunset pictures. We missed the full effect by a few minutes but managed some reasonable shots. We were visited by a couple of Roe Deer and a hare, which I managed some shots of from within the van. I have put the trail cam out in case they come back overnight. Then time to shut up shop and relax. We listened to our music as the commercial stations were full of the Euro Song Contest. Then it was time for bed. 23rd May 2021 Sunday arrived with it’s normal regularity. We are up breakfasted and start the lets go home dance. We saw some amazing parking before we left one small car took up half the car park. I think he takes the biscuit and wins the award for worst parking. The hare came to visit again but I could not get to the camera in time. So another pot of tea is called for while we pack up and prepare to head off home. We had a lovely time despite the weather.
