But somewhere along the line, things changed. In recent years, Mario sports games have become a shell of themselves. The characteristics that defined the spin-off series have been sucked dry. With modern Mario sports games now offering the bare minimum amount of content and fun they can get away with, I’m left wondering what went wrong?
