Following MBK's decision to provide a joint guarantee, Meritz Financial Group, the largest creditor, has confirmed an additional loan. Homeplus employees, who had been waiting for the board's decision, cheered. Some were even seen shedding tears. However, on the other hand, just because 200 billion won in DIP (emergency operating funds) has come in doesn't mean it's all over."] Homeplus announced that it will file an immediate appeal with the rehabilitation court on the 20th to continue the rehabilitation process. Supermarket operations will also resume. We plan to establish an operating schedule by making partial payments to suppliers and negotiating supply terms. However, several hurdles remain before normalization can be achieved. With 67 stores nationwide already closed, it is difficult to gauge whether sales will recover even if operations resume. Homeplus plans to secure funds by selling three stores, including the Yuseong and Donggwangju branches. In the long term, a plan is being discussed to reduce operating costs by maintaining only the food division and downsizing headquarters and store staff.
