Realities of keeping chickens: Water Belly Edition 😓 Walked into the coop and found my hen, Red, struggling to breathe with a dark comb (means they aren’t getting enough oxygen). I needed to act quickly so I dug through my chicken medicine cabinet and found an 18G needle to poke her with. I found a spot below and to the right of her vent and poked her and let some of the fluid start draining out.
