Back in October 2024, I visited Temple Square in Salt Lake City while the historic Salt Lake Temple remained hidden behind fences, scaffolding, and cranes. Nearly two years later, I returned to see how much progress has been made on one of the largest religious restoration projects in American history. In this update, we walk around Temple Square and take a look at the Salt Lake Temple renovation as it enters its final stages. Along the way we'll explore the Tabernacle, Conference Center, Church History Museum, FamilySearch Library, and other landmarks that make this area one of the most visited destinations in Utah. We'll also venture beyond Temple Square to visit Memory Grove Park, City Creek Canyon, the Utah State Capitol grounds, City Creek Center, and other attractions within walking distance of downtown Salt Lake City.
