Fr. Jacob Thekeparambil (SEERI) interviews P.V. Varkey, the last surviving student of Mar Ivanios

On 14 February 2026, Fr. Jacob Thekeparambil, the Founder-Director of Saint Ephrem Ecumenical Research Institute (SEERI) in Kottayam, visited P. V. Varkey at his home in Nedumpuram, in order to hear his reflections and reminiscences about the Venerable Geevarghese Mar Ivanios (d. 1953), the founder of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. At the present time, P. V. Varkey is the last surviving student of Mar Ivanios, having studied under the bishop in minor seminary.
