IMD Issues Red Alert as Odisha Braces for Extremely Heavy Rainfall Tomorrow

For the next 24 hours, Red Alert has been issued for Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and Kalahandi, while several other districts remain under Orange and Yellow Alerts. The ongoing rainfall has already affected normal life in several areas. In Podam Peta of Ganjam district, a house has collapsed, and waterlogging has been reported from multiple locations. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level, contributing to widespread rainfall across the state. According to the forecast, five districts will remain under Red Alert tomorrow, eight districts under Orange Alert, and the remaining 17 districts under Yellow Warning, with authorities advising people to stay alert as the rain continues.
