AEROFOAM's incredibly stable Aermacchi MB-339 (105 mm EDF) FPV, flown with DJI V2 Goggles.

For a large EDF, this jet is a pleasure to fly. A permanent keeper in my hanger. However, this is not a beginner's build and there are a few things to be aware of: Be prepared to separate the wiring to make room for the batteries. Not difficult but time consuming and worth the effort. I followed the "RCINFORMER" Aermacchi build guide:("   • AEROFOAM MB-339 setup Guide By: RCINFORMER  ) Great example on how to separate the wiring. The Changesun stock 105mm EDF required some rebalancing, and it lacked that jet like sound. The Changesun EDF vibrated the fuselage a little more than I would like so I rebalanced it. However, apart from the sound, the Changesun EDF is slightly bigger and slightly more powerful than its recommended "JP Hobby 105mm" replacement. I flew with both. In the video I'm flying with the JP Hobby 105mm. I love the sound, and it is very well balanced, no vibration at all. But I do miss that extra bit of power from the Changesun stock EDF. The 160-amp stock ESC does runs hot. I fixed this by mounting a 40mm x 40mm fan on top of the ESC with heat shrink tape and cutting a hole in the bottom of the fuselage just above the nose spar to provide additional airflow over the batteries and ESC. The model was packaged very well. After unpacking, I kept the box to carry the plane to and from the field with some modification to the box. The model also comes with a detailed instruction pamphlet with lots of photos to assist you. The CG is exactly where the instructions said it should be and AMAZINGLY, I did not need to trim the aircraft on the maiden flight. Note: I added the Caddx air unit, and two pilots to the cockpit which shifted the CG forward. I added 1.5 oz of weight to the tail to balance the CG. Spare parts are readily available, (If needed) and the one time I did call customer support they responded right away. Additional Mods: I added The RC Geek's random servo generator (   • Scale Moving Turrets and Pilots using the ...  ) for use with the rear pilot. It works great and as expected. Adds that bit of realism. I also added the Assan AG61 nose gear steering gyro, (https://rc-castle.com/index.php?route...) although you may not need it because the plane tracks well without it. I did have to cut a slot over the canopy for better visibility for the camera and another slot in the side of the canopy to access the SD card from the air unit. All in all, this is my new and favorite plane to fly. The plane is heavy, but incredibly stable in flight and comes in around 16 plus pounds. So be careful how you handle it. And I was able to get the Italian Air Force paint scheme and it's a great scheme. Although I would have loved to have gotten the desert camo scheme.
