Dialogue: "I Am Adam Lanza's Mother"
Marcia Franklin talks with Liza Long, the author of the blog post "I Am Adam Lanza's Mother," which was written in the wake of the Newtown shootings. In the essay, Long expresses her fears of and for her son, who has a mental illness, and her frustrations getting him help. Her post went viral, and elicited both praise and criticism. Franklin talks with Long about the past year, in which she appeared on major television networks, gave a Tedx talk and wrote a book. Long also discusses her thoughts on what is needed for better mental health services and reducing stigma.
