Digitizing means you create a digital version of whatever it is you wish to do away with. You can do this safely and responsibly, and you would be utterly amazed at how much you can get rid of once you've created digital copies of your contents. Now of course, I don't want you to throw away super special and meaningful items. This is a great route for those 'in the middle' items...they are not quite unimportant enough to toss, but they are not important enough to warrant storing. In that case, digital copies are the way to go!
