Their size and performance was the stuff of legends, and interest surged when 4014 was brought back to life in 2019. This iconic locomotive has been made in model form in various gauges across the years, but has yet to have a real winner of a model in Lego. Some crude models are available from Chinese companies, that are cheap cash grabs, while more detailed and impressive offerings are way beyond the price tag of the average consumer. One design by MorningStrummer is offered on ReBrickable for a digital Instruction download, where you have to source your own parts. A Chinese company called LetBrick partnered with him to take the sourcing part away from the process, and deliver to you a ready to build Big Boy model. LetBricks was kind enough to send me a copy of this model to build and review. This monster of a build was my largest and longest build of my life, and I am satisfied with the end result.
