Petone Centennial Parade, 26th Nov 1988, Cuba St
Historical footage of the Petone Centennial Parade, 26th Nov 1988, Petone, New Zealand, celebrating 100 years since Petone became a borough. Participants are returning to the assembly area along Cuba Street. Videoed by Trevor McGavin, who first sought a vantage point in Jackson St., but it was too crowded there. It's the one and only Petone Centennial Parade, not an annual event. Though it looks like, because it was only a month before Christmas, Santa decided to join the action at the end of the parade.
